Different color combinations are used to create our series called, “Lady Egypt.” Amazonite is the dynamic semi-precious stone used for this particular “lady.” Fourteen hand-spun Egyptian crystal beads called, “Sea of Egypt” were used for adornment in this art piece. Other accents for this 18” beauty are faceted Black Onyx, Grecian silver, and black swirled Russian crystals.

Inspiration for this series comes from a collar piece created in Dahshur, Egypt for Egyptian Queen Mereryet I, wife of Amenemhet II. This design dates back to the Twelfth Dynasty and signifies the entire circuit of the sun over which the Pharaohs ruled. Queen Mereryet I, was also pictured wearing jewelry laden with Egyptian crystal beads with the vulture goddess Nekhebet of Upper Egypt, spreading her protective wings over her mistress the Queen.
