Inspiration
for this Egyptian styled necklace comes from the treasures
found in the tomb of Tutankhamen, son of Akhenaten. This mysterious
“boy king” reigned during the 18th Dynasty, approximately
1570-1349 B.C. The original design symbolized resurrection
of the King and his ruling power over all that the sun encircled.
This brilliantly colored artwork was designed by Debbie McLelland
and the striking ostrich head was fabricated by artist Magda
L. Csihás. Magda hand rolls ceramic clay then cuts the clay
forming various designs which she then kiln fires and paints
by hand.
Accented
with Carnelian and two carved Turquoise leaves, this 21” necklace
is also strung with ten Turquoise chunks, Olive Jade, Unakite,
Jasper, Honey Jade, Swarovski crystals, and Grecian sterling
silver spacer beads. The bird head measures 1-3/4” in height
by 2” in width and the set is completed by earrings measuring
1-1/2” in length and a matching 7” bracelet.
Wear this
set with the strength and beauty that empowers its design,
just as the original piece did many centuries ago!
